Dr. Stone Character Guide: Complete Roster, Key Roles, and Faction Loyalties
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
At the center of civilization's revival stands Senku Ishigami. Driven by unyielding rationalism and an encyclopedic command of pre-petrification knowledge, Senku does not view survival as an ordeal of luck. To him, science is simply an accumulative, collaborative discipline spanning two million years. His breakthrough invention, the petrification revival formula combining distilled alcohol and nitric acid extracted from bat guano, serves as the primary catalyst for everything that follows. Senku calculates risk down to precise percentages, delegating execution to people whose practical skills outstrip his frail physique.
That delegation created his primary apprentice and equal partner in curiosity: Chrome. Unlike Senku, who relies on accumulated modern memory, Chrome discovered natural chemistry from absolute scratch in Ishigami Village. He collected minerals, observed natural reactions, and categorized herbs without pre-existing textbooks. His primitive trial-and-error mind bridges ancient instinct with modern theory, often proposing inventive lateral solutions that Senku’s textbook-rigid memory overlooks.
The technical wing would collapse entirely without Kaseki, the village artisan whose aging frame belies monstrous mechanical stamina. Glassblowing, gear precision, loom construction, and intricate vacuum tube assembly all depend on his hands. While Senku generates schematics, Kaseki translates paper blueprints into physical reality, proving that high technology cannot advance without veteran craft labor.
