Dodgers Baseball Schedule Fact-Check: Postseason Dates, Times, and Rest Days
By Alexander Ross
Q1: Why are postseason game times often announced only 24 to 48 hours in advance?
A1: Major League Baseball works alongside television partners to optimize ratings across multiple series. Exact first pitches depend on how many Wild Card or Division Series matchups remain active, as an early sweep in an East Coast series often slides Dodgers home games from late afternoon to primetime.
Q2: If an elimination Game 5 is not played, how do refunds work for Dodger Stadium tickets?
A2: Tickets purchased through official team channels or authorized primary ticket sellers are automatically refunded to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days. Secondary ticketing marketplaces credit accounts according to their individual guarantee policies.
Q3: Will Shohei Ohtani pitch during any round of the 2026 postseason?
A3: Team medical staff and management have maintained a strict, conservative progression for his throwing program. The Dodgers have repeatedly confirmed he remains strictly the designated hitter throughout the 2026 postseason campaign.
