Unpack the key details Did Rodney Mccoy Marry? Everything to Know About the Carla Walker Case Survivor with our in-depth report.

Rodney McCoy and 17-year-old Carla Walker had spent the evening of February 17, 1974, attending the Western Hills High School Valentine’s Day dance. McCoy was a varsity athlete, Walker was a bright cheerleader, and their relationship carried the gentle optimism of teenage sweethearts planning for college. After the dance, the couple stopped at the Ridglea Bowl parking lot on Camp Bowie Boulevard to visit friends and talk inside McCoy's car.

Without warning, an unknown assailant yanked open the passenger door. The man shoved a handgun into the vehicle and pointed it straight at McCoy. When McCoy lunged forward to defend Carla, the attacker beat him across the skull with the heavy pistol, fracturing bone and tearing open scalp tissue. Dazed and slipping into unconsciousness, McCoy heard Carla scream her final plea: "Rodney, go get my dad!" When McCoy came to, the passenger seat was empty. Carla was gone. The attacker had dropped a magazine clip from a Ruger .22 caliber pistol on the asphalt, the sole physical clue left at the scene.
