Deconstructing 'The Trance of Mike Wheeler': Analyzing the Viral Clips and Edits
By Elena Rostova
Q1: Did Mike Wheeler actually enter Vecna's trance in Stranger Things?
A1: No. Mike Wheeler has never been possessed or trapped in a mental trance by Vecna in canonical episodes. The viral videos are fan-made edits splicing dramatic footage from Seasons 3 and 4 with custom visual effects and altered color palettes.
Q2: What song is used in the Mike Wheeler trance TikTok edits?
A2: Most edits feature slowed and reverbed mixes of dream trance piano tracks, ambient modular synth drones, or warped covers of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill," layered beneath grandfather clock chimes and deep bass rumbles.
Q3: Why do fans think Mike Wheeler will be targeted in Season 5?
A3: Fan theories suggest that because Mike serves as Eleven’s primary emotional anchor and "the heart" of the party, Vecna would target him psychologically to break Eleven's resolve during their final confrontation.
