Chainsaw Man Vol. 17 Review: Fujimoto Delivers Pure Chaos in the Tokyo Containment Facility
Fami remains the most unnerving piece on Fujimoto's chessboard. While Asa provides the muscle through Yoru, Fami orchestrates the raid with deadpan nonchalance. Her tilted head, constant demands for food, and total detachment from human agony mask calculating cruelty.
Fami's actions in Volume 17 reveal that she does not care about saving Denji the person. She needs Chainsaw Man operational to consume the Death Devil and avert the Nostradamus prophecy. Public Safety knows this, yet their response is fractured. Special Division 7 throws disposable agents into the meat grinder while senior leaders gamble with national stability. Fami manipulates both sides. She pushes Asa forward as an unwitting weapon while holding the true parameters of her devil contracts in reserve.
The volume highlights this moral vacuum. Neither Public Safety nor the Famine Devil offers a righteous path. Denji is caught in a vice between bureaucratic vivisection and an elder devil's cosmic engineering.
