Can You Create a Tiktok Account Without Google Play Services? We Tested It
Android app developers frequently build services around Google Mobile Services (GMS) to handle background notifications, in-app purchases, and bot mitigation. TikTok is no exception. When a new user hits the sign-up screen inside the standard mobile client, the software triggers an invisible safety check via Google Play Services to verify device legitimacy.
On hardware lacking these Google libraries, the client often freezes during the CAPTCHA stage. The rotating puzzle fails to load, or the interface returns a vague account creation error. Our packet inspection revealed that the app repeatedly queries com.google.android.gms for safety tokens before validating the user credentials. When that query returns a null value, the sign-up script flags the registration request as high-risk automation traffic.
