Busted by the Border: Visual Proof of Fake Dark Mode Typing Gifs

Whether you are following Busted by the Border: Visual Proof of Fake Dark Mode Typing Gifs, here is a clear overview you shouldn't miss.

Why do typing GIFs show an obvious white border in dark mode?
The GIF format uses binary 1-bit transparency, meaning pixels cannot be partially clear. When anti-aliased curved bubbles are exported, the edge pixels blend against a default white background matte, leaving an obvious light perimeter when viewed on dark screens.

Can you send a dark mode typing prank on Discord?
Discord does not display typing indicators inside chat bubbles within the message stream. Native typing notifications appear exclusively as plain text in the footer. Uploading a typing graphic on Discord immediately wraps the file in a media player frame, revealing the trick instantly.

What file format allows completely transparent animations on mobile?
APNG (Animated Portable Network Graphics) and animated WebP support full 8-bit alpha transparency. These formats store 256 levels of opacity per pixel, eliminating white halos and allowing curved edges to blend cleanly across any interface background color.
