Aniya Harvey and Dad Donnell Harvey: Photos, Career Stats, and Family Tree
Donnell Harvey built his reputation long before reality television existed. Emerging out of Wilcox County High School in Rochelle, Georgia, the 6-foot-8 power forward was ranked among the top high school players in the country. In 1999, he took home the McDonald’s All-American MVP award, outpacing future NBA stars with explosive interior play and defensive motor.
Harvey committed to head coach Billy Donovan at the University of Florida. His lone season with the Florida Gators during the 1999, 2000 collegiate campaign turned into a historic run. Averaging 10.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a freshman, Harvey served as the defensive anchor that propelled Florida to the 2000 NCAA National Championship game against Michigan State.
His sheer physical upside caught immediate scouting attention. After just one season in Gainesville, Harvey declared for the professional ranks, solidifying his status as one of the premier frontcourt prospects of the new millennium.
