Altis Sigma Top Speed Unleashed: How Fast Does the 22Kw Electric Dirt Bike Really Go?
Raw power means nothing if the machine shuts down after 30 seconds of hard riding. The factory-tuned sinusoidal controller on the Sigma regulates heat through multi-stage algorithms linked to thermistors in the battery pack, inverter, and internal motor stator.
The bike includes distinct ride modes that directly alter final top speed and torque ramps:
- Eco Mode: Caps motor draws at approximately 5kW. Top speed holds at 32 mph, maximizing battery conservation for transport stages or technical trials.
- Trail / Sport Mode: Opens output to 12kW. Top speed locks in around 52 mph, matching the performance of a modified Surron Light Bee while keeping running temperatures low.
- Hyper / Race Mode: Unlocks full 22kW burst draws. Top speed reaches its unrestricted 74 mph ceiling.
During extended wide-open throttle (WOT) testing on hot days (ambient temperatures over 85°F / 29°C), the controller begins subtle current tapering after roughly 90 to 120 seconds of continuous top-speed runs. Instead of cutting power abruptly, the firmware gently reduces draw back down to 14kW, dropping velocity to a manageable 60 mph until stator temperatures stabilize.
