Alpha Gear Watch in 2026: Updates, App Changes, and Current User Sentiment
By Alexander Ross
Can the Alpha Gear watch survive swimming or hot showers?
The IP68 rating handles shallow freshwater immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. However, hot water steam compromises rubber gaskets, and high-pressure water impacts during swimming can breach the seal. Avoid using it in hot showers, saunas, or ocean surf.
Does the watch have onboard GPS for mapping without a smartphone?
No. The Alpha Gear line uses connected GPS, which borrows location data from your tethered smartphone. If you leave your phone at home, the watch will track steps and elapsed time, but it cannot map your geographic route.
How can I fix notification drops after the latest firmware update?
Open your smartphone's application settings, select the companion app (such as Da Fit), disable automatic battery optimization, and allow background activity. Then open the app, disconnect the watch profile, and run a fresh Bluetooth pairing cycle.
