Airwolf Cast Then and Now: Photos and Full Career Milestones Revealed
By Chloe Bennett
Q1: Are any members of the original Airwolf cast still alive?
Yes. Jean Bruce Scott, who portrayed Caitlin O'Shannessy throughout Seasons 2 and 3, is the sole surviving lead member of the original cast following Alex Cord's death in 2021.
Q2: Why was Jan-Michael Vincent replaced in Season 4?
Vincent was not brought back due to severe personal struggles with addiction that repeatedly disrupted shooting schedules, combined with CBS dropping the expensive show after Season 3. When USA Network picked up the show for a fourth season, they outsourced filming to Canada with an entirely new, lower-cost cast.
Q3: What happened to the actual helicopter used in filming?
The modified Bell 222 was converted back to a standard civilian configuration and sold to a German air ambulance company. It crashed during a severe weather rescue flight in Germany in June 1992, destroying the airframe completely.
