A Qué Hora Juega Guatemala: Full Schedule, Time Zones, and Viewing Guide
By Alexander Ross
Guatemalan football has entered an era of unprecedented diaspora interest. Millions of Guatemalan expatriates living across California, Texas, Illinois, and Florida actively track national team matchdays. When the federations schedule marquee exhibitions against elite CONMEBOL squads like Argentina, ticket allocations in US NFL venues routinely clear out within hours. Stadium attendance records from Maryland to Los Angeles consistently prove that Tena’s team operates with de facto home support across North America.
This widespread enthusiasm exposes regular scheduling confusion. Central America does not observe daylight saving time, meaning the gap between Guatemala local time CST and United States Eastern Time shifts between one and two hours depending on the season. A fixture scheduled for 20:00 in Guatemala City might broadcast at 21:00 or 22:00 along the US Atlantic coast, tripping up viewers attempting to coordinate watch parties or stream live coverage.
